This month we are looking to find sponsors for nine deserving boys at Mykolaivka Orphanage. Most of us are drawn to the little girls but boys need love too! March Ten Days Project: we are putting together Grad Packs for 40 teenagers who will graduate from Mykolaivka and Kiev Orphanage 12 in June and go on to vocational school. Grad Packs contain basic household items for the orphans' dorm rooms. This newsletter wants to find a sponsor for Tolik, one of the boys about to graduate from O12.

Update on January's urgent fundraiser for homeless older orphans in Kiev who needed food, clothes, and shelter during extreme cold weather. Kicking off February's Ten Days Project, dedicated to building up An Orphan Smiles' Emergency Fund. Introducing Julia, a young girl who is looking for a sponsor. And a brief report on a recent get-together of An Orphan Smiles volunteers.

This issue gives an overview of our organization's accomplishments in 2009: we introduced our KIDS and GAP sponsorship programs at Orphanage 12 in Kiev and Mykolaivka Internat; outfitted the Myko library with donated new books; assisted unemployed teenagers who have aged out of the orphanages; and more. The newsletter also looks at what we have planned for 2010: a birthday card program for Tsurupinsk Children's Home; more funding for food donations; and more. We also introduce our new Ten Days Project -- in January we ask our supporters to post flyers in their communities, so we can connect with new sponsors for the children in Ukraine.
